Description

Orange Oil Water Surface Clearer – The natural way to go

Orange oil products are suitable for the control of salvinia, azolla and duckweed [1] in irrigation dams, farm dams, ponds and more. The use of orange oil is an environmentally friendly weed control approach[4].

A natural based product that gets its power from orange oil extracts with its principal component of orange oil, which is known for its herbicidal properties [2], Water Surface Clearer spray is safe to use and does not have a withholding period. This means that the water being treated can be used immediately after application – no more waiting around. Non-toxic to humans and domestic animals [3] fish, pets and livestock, this product is not a herbicide, but a natural solution to clear unwanted free floating aquatic matter on the water’s surface.

How does it work?

When the orange oil covers the surface of the leaves, it disrupts the cuticle, breaking down or dissolving the waxy coating on plant cell walls. It also contributes to the desiccation or burndown of young tissues [6]. This results in the plant losing its ability to retain water [3]. The damaged leaf cells leak water and the plants die of dehydration [8].

Best Practice

We recommend full applications on day 1, day 2 and day 4. For best results, ensure there is visible free water in between the floating matter. If coverage is at 100%, partially remove some of the floating matter before applying Water Surface Clearer.

Surface Clear

This solution helps to reduce the risk of re-establishment of new free floating aquatic matter on your water’s surface. This silicone-based liquid disperses evenly across the water surface to give fast-acting effects.

Once you’ve cleared your water surface of aquatic matter, Surface Clear helps to reduce the likelihood of re-establishment.

Is it safe?

When used according to instructions, this product has no withholding period, so you can use the water immediately after treatment. It’s safe for fish, livestock, pets and humans alike.

How does it work?

Affecting the surface tension of water by creating a silicone ‘barrier’, this pourable solution prevents the reoccurrence of new free floating aquatic matter by stopping it from floating – providing the peace of mind you need in ensuring your water surface stays as clear as possible.

Surface Clear works perfectly in conjunction with Orange Oil and approved herbicides such as AQ200 that aim to clear the water’s surface.

How To Use

How to Use Orange Oil – Water Surface Clearer

This product works best when surface matter is small and manageable. It’s advised to do several light applications, instead of a single heavy dose.

Ensure that the full surface area of the water is treated. Where no free-floating matter is present, apply lightly and evenly.

For large infestations covering up to 90% of the water’s surface – partially remove sections of the infestation to create space for the treated matter to sink. In such instances, we recommend applying an extra 20% of the product to ensure saturation.

The damaged leaf cells leak water and the plants die of dehydration [8] and thus sink and decompose.

Surface Clear works to affect the waters tension by forming a thin layer of silicon based liquid. The free floating aquatic matter is then unable to stay afloat. This prevents the re-establishment of free floating aquatic matter.

When is it best to use this product?

We recommend using our Surface Clear in conjunction with our Orange Oil and one of our skimmers. Apply Surface Clear 2 hours after you have applied Orange Oil. For best results, skim mass matter before applying our Orange Oil and Surface Clear.
