  • Copper Sulfate Aquatic Algaecide is a chemical treatment for the control of problem-causing toxic blue-green algae.
    Water with excessive algae growth appears pea-green and has floating scums. Copper Sulfate Aquatic Algaecide will kill this algae.

    Copper Sulfate will eliminate a broad range of algae and control the growth of resident species in various situations.

    Suitable for effectively treating free floating algae, Filamentous algae and blue green algae.

    Water treated with this product is suitable for use on plants, e.g water of sports grounds and ornamental plants.

    May be toxic to Australian Native fish and crustaceans even in hard water. In water containing native fish, the product should be used with extreme caution and only where the algae infestation poses a serious threat to native fish.

    Treat shoreline areas first to avoid trapping fish in shallows. In ponds containing fish, treat only 1/3 of the area at a time to avoid oxygen depletion of the cold water caused by decaying vegetation. Allow 10-15 days for oxygen levels to recover before continuing treatment.

    DO NOT USE on fish intended for human consumption.

    DO NOT treat if the water temperature is below 16 degrees.

    Treated water cannot be discharged into rivers, streams, creeks, billabongs, lakes or wetlands without a licence from the Environmental Protection Agency.

    Additional hazard stagements according to GHS 7: causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.

    For Free floating algae, Apply 0.2 – 0.5mg/L Copper,

    For Filamentous algae, Apply 0.5 – 1 mg/L Copper

    Apply in bright sunlight and when algae are first evident. Remove any large floating mats of algae before applying. Apply on a clam, wind free day to the water surface.

    If heavily infested, re treat after 10-14 days as necessary.

    DO NOT allow bystanders to come into contact with the spray cloud.

    DO NOT apply by ground boom spray.
