  • Introducing Aquatic Barley Straw Extract:

A powerful, eco-friendly liquid derived from whole barley straw, designed for easy application and year-round maintenance of healthy pond and dam water. This concentrated solution is fast-acting and effective, providing a natural algae control for various water conditions. Made in Australia and tailored for local environments, Aquatic Barley Straw Extract is your go-to solution for maintaining pond and dam water quality.

    • Concentrated liquid from whole barley straw
    • Easy, mess-free application
    • Eco-friendly and fast-acting formula
    • Suitable for all aquatic systems
    • Safe for pets, fish, and plants

    How It Works:

Aquatic Barley Straw Extract utilises the high carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of barley straw to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus levels in the water1. This natural process discourages algae growth, keeping your water clean and clear.

    Benefits:

    • May suppress algae growth by up to 90%2
    • Safe for aquatic life, including fish and frogs, and plants
    • Suitable for various water bodies

Whole Barley Straw Bales vs. Barley Straw Extract:

While both options inhibit algae growth, Aquatic Barley Straw Extract offers quicker results. Unlike the manual placement of whole barley straw bales, the liquid extract starts working immediately. For maximum effectiveness, consider using both methods together for the first 8 weeks1.

Choose Aquatic Barley Straw Extract for a natural, efficient, and safe solution to maintain the health and clarity of your pond or dam water. Made from whole barley straw and backed by research, this concentrated liquid extract is your reliable partner in water quality management.

not as effective as I hoped

I was very excited to try this natural product but now after a month of using it I'm sadly disappointed in its effectiveness and won't be buying it again as it's expensive and not combating all forms of algae effectively. I am still needing to physically remove lots of hair/string algae every week which is very annoying. The product does appear to have helped decrease some of the algae growing on the vallis but the rocks and gravel are still covered in lots of unsightly algae. A friend uses a chemical algae remover in her pond and has great success, looks like you can't go the natural way and expect the same results.

Disappointed

I have a lot of algae in my outdoor fishpond, I removed as much as I could before adding the barley straw extract but while it might have slowed new growth of algae a bit, it hasn’t stopped it. It was easy to apply
